Megan Lisagor-Trezise is an AMI Trainer at the 3-6 Primary level with 20 years of experience in Montessori. She holds an AMI 3-6 Primary Diploma, a state of Arizona standard teaching certificate, and a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She has had the honor of training adults in the U.S., Vietnam, and Poland. Currently, she is working to support the development of public Montessori in New Jersey with Montessori Public Works and has designed an innovative new training model for the New Jersey non-profit, Rising Tide Montessori. Megan has spent many years teaching and consulting in both private and public Montessori schools.
With the transition to teaching in the public sector, she found her personal mission in working with underserved children and families. While in the public sector, Megan moved into Montessori Instructional Coaching for teachers as well as serving as the data specialist for the school’s Response to Intervention Team working with exceptional needs children who were struggling behaviorally and academically. She now specializes in serving children with ADHD and those who have endured childhood trauma within the context of the Montessori Prepared Environment.
Montessori Deconstructed began as a blog in 2015 when Meg realized she had something to offer her teaching community after a decade of experience. She thought about the parts of practice that were hard and mystifying to her as a new teacher and wanted to help other teachers with those same things.
Over the years the blog evolved and so did Montessori Deconstructed. Several years ago, Meg's adolescent daughter wanted to learn about business so they set up an Etsy shop to sell high-quality/low-cost Language materials to teachers. It was a great experience that inspired Meg to start writing books on the 3-6 Montessori Outdoor Enviroment as well as open-ended art for 3-6-year-olds. We are thrilled you are here!
